Privacy, plainly.
Effective July 3, 2026
The short version
Revayo Translate has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. We never see your text, your keys, or anything else. Your text travels only to the AI provider you configure — or nowhere at all, if you run a local model.
What we collect
Nothing. Revayo Translate is a native macOS app with no account system, no analytics SDK, no crash reporting of our own, and no advertising. The app sends no data to us — we operate no servers for it. We cannot see what you translate, when, or how often.
Your API keys
To translate, you bring your own API key for the provider of your choice. Keys are stored exclusively in the macOS Keychain on your device, one entry per provider. They are never written to plain files, never synced by the app, and never transmitted anywhere except to the provider they belong to — directly, over HTTPS, as part of your own requests.
Where your text goes
When you translate, the text you typed is sent directly from your Mac to the AI provider you selected in Settings. There is no intermediate server of ours in between. Depending on your choice, that provider may be:
- OpenAI — governed by the OpenAI Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude) — governed by the Anthropic Privacy Policy
- OpenRouter — governed by the OpenRouter Privacy Policy
- Ollama or a custom endpoint — if it runs on your own machine, your text never leaves your Mac.
Once your text reaches a cloud provider, its handling is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Choose a provider you trust — or keep everything local with Ollama.
What stays on your device
- Translation history — the last hundred translations, stored locally so you can revisit them.
- Usage statistics — token counts and estimated costs per day, computed and stored locally.
- Preferences — languages, provider, model, and prompt settings.
All of it lives in your user account on your Mac. Delete the app and it's gone. None of it is ever uploaded to us or anyone else.
Third-party services
The app contains no third-party SDKs — no analytics, no ads, no crash reporters. The only network connections it makes are the translation requests you initiate, to the endpoint you configured.
Children
Revayo Translate is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children — because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, changes are unlikely to be dramatic.
