How Revayo
stacks up.

No translator is best at everything, and neither is Revayo. Below it sits next to the four apps people compare it with. Their strong points are in the table too, so you can see where each one wins.

Each write-up covers the parts where the other app is better. The goal is to help you pick the right tool, not to talk you into this one.

What separates Revayo

Every translator above ships with a fixed engine. You get whatever quality their model has today and wait for whatever it becomes later. Revayo's main difference is that the engine is a setting. OpenAI, Claude, anything on OpenRouter, a local model in Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Two fields, and you can change them at any time.

The rest follows from that. The app is $14.99 once, with no subscription, because Revayo does not run the models. You pay your provider a few cents per use, and the app logs tokens and cost for each request, so the bill is never a surprise. There is no account. Keys live in the macOS Keychain, and text goes straight from your Mac to the endpoint you chose, or nowhere if the model runs locally.

To be fair to the table above: if you need translated PDFs, use DeepL. If you need to translate a photo of a menu, use Google. We would rather lose those rows honestly than win them in fine print.

The simplest way to decide:
run them side by side.

Revayo is $14.99 once, native, macOS 14 or later. Keep whichever one works best for you.
